Denzil "Pa" Wayne Wethington, 82, of Louisville, KY, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 1. He has taken this day of rest to find his greatest rest with Jesus Christ. He lived a full life serving as a founding member and deacon of Unity Baptist Church, with his key goal to get people to church to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ. A veteran of the US Navy, Denzil was proud to be an American. A skilled repair man, Denzil believed in restoration – he knew how to give new life to old things just as he was given new life in Christ.
Left to cherish his memory in this life is his loving wife of 61 years and 9 months, Joan Wethington; children, Ricky (Jackie) Wethington, Vickie(Ricky) Hall, grandchildren, Brian (Jessica) Wethington, Bradley (Angela) Wethington, Eric (Tori) Hall, Chelsey Hall and Caleb Garza, and Kristian and Andre Givens, Denny Thompson; great grandchildren, Hunter, Hayley, Luke, and Faith Wethington.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213 on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 11am to 8pm and on Friday from 9am – 12pm.The funeral will be at the same location at 12pm on Friday, September 6, 2019.
Flowers are welcome, and donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Unity Baptist Church of Bullitt County, 120 Jeffie Lane, Shepherdsville, KY 40165. The family would also love for you to visit Unity Baptist Church, and hear about the love of Jesus Christ, with whom Denzil is currently strolling over Heaven.
