Donald F. Fisher Sr., 72, of Byron Center, Michigan, was welcomed into his forever home in heaven on Monday June 26th, 2017 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky after a courageous battle with cancer. Don was a loving & devoted husband, father, grandfather, and life companion. Don was known as the “gadget man” because he loved his gadgets. He was always prepared to help someone in a time of crisis. To know him was to love him. Don was a very religious man who loved our Lord & Savior. He lived his Catholic faith to the fullest right to the end. He was preceded in death by his wife: Shirley. He is survived by his life companion of 19 years, Anna Marie VanVolkinburg; children: Donnie Fisher Jr., Denise Fisher (Lincoln), David Fisher, Rick VanVolkinburg and Dawn VanVolkinburg (Kevin); grandchildren: Jessica, Andrew, and Evan; and several siblings, nieces, and nephews. A service to honor Don’s memory will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Hospice.
