

Doris C. Huber, of Louisville passed away on Thursday June 2, 2011 at Norton Hospice Pavilion. She was born on June 25, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Michael C. and Clara Schlaiche Huber. Doris was a member of the Cathedral of the Assumption, VERITAS, an usher for the Ky Center of the Arts, a world traveler and loved spending summer weeks in Hilton Head, SC and winters in Ft. Meyers, FL.
She was a member of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine Community from 1957 to 1973 (Sister Mary Demetria). Doris was a lifelong Educator who began teaching at St. Stephen Martyr, and later taught at St. Gabriel and was principal at St. Thomas Moore in Louisville. She taught in the New Albany Floyd County School System as a Reading Resource Teacher from 1979 until 2004 at Silver Street Elementary and S. Ellen Jones Elementary Schools.
She is survived by a host of loving friends and all the people whose lives she touched teaching.
A mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 10:00 am at Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 South 5th Street, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road.
