Dorothy was one of twelve children born to the late Clifton and Pearl Waldrop. Throughout her career, she worked as a real estate broker, serving her clients with dedication, professionalism, and integrity.
More than any accomplishment, Dorothy cherished her family and her faith. She loved her family deeply, second only to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She exemplified Christ’s love through her kindness, generosity, and forgiveness. Dorothy never kept a record of wrongs and believed strongly in extending grace to others. One of her favorite sayings was, “You just need to forgive and move on.”
In her later years, Dorothy’s faith became an even greater testimony to those around her. Although Alzheimer’s disease gradually took away many memories, it never diminished her loving spirit. Whether she remembered your name or not, she would greet you warmly with the words, “I love you, honey.” Those simple words reflected the unconditional love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Dorothy will be remembered for her compassionate heart, unwavering faith, generous spirit, and the love she poured into her family and friends throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Howard Elmo Bolin, and her son, Michael Bolin.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lynn Ice (Mike); her son, Glenn Bolin (Tammy); her daughter-in-law, Amy Bolin; her grandchildren, Jason Ice (Shaley) and Joshua Bolin (Heather); and her great-grandchildren, Addie Ice, Jase Ice, Elena Bolin, and Sophie Bolin.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dorothy’s nieces, Cathy Huff, Cheryl Elliott and Robin Ritchey, for the kindness, love, and care they provided throughout the years.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
