Dorothy M. Hargrave

Dorothy M. Hargrave (Eskridge) passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025. Born to Robert and Eliza Eskridge on June 10, 1924. She was preceded in death by her sons, Robert (Bobby) Hargrave, Larry Hargrave, and Mike Hargrave and her infant daughter Brenda Hargrave. Also, her grandson Joey Hargrave.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter and caregiver Deborah Hargrave Babcock. Her sister Anna Embry. Grandchildren: Steve Hargrave (Amy), Shelley Evans (Mark), Millisa Brown (Chris), and Brandon Babcock (Shannon). Her Great Grandchildren: Victoria Lee (Levi), Abigail Blondell, Katie Fleming (Kirk), Stephanie Van Horn (Nick), Michael Hargrave, Makena Brown, Autrey Brown, Caden Brown, Blake Brown, and Beckham Babcock. In addition she had 7 Great Great Grandchildren: Emmit, Jasper, Corbin, Tatum, Lila, Cooper, and James. As well as her daughter-in-law Phyllis Hargrave.

Dorothy was very proud to be the first in her family to graduate from high school in 1942 from Fairdale High School. She went on to marry and start a family. Later, as a single mother she raised her four children on her own. Her children were very proud of her for her sacrifice and determination to ensure they had all they needed and to know they were loved. She retired from Sandy’s Restaurant in 1986 as shift manager.

Dorothy was a member of Watterson Trail Church of Christ for many years.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218 from 11AM to 1PM on Friday, July 18, 2025. A funeral service will be held after in the funeral home chapel at 1PM. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park.
