Dorothy "Dottie" Norma Speer

Dorothy “Dottie” Norma Speer, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away February 26, 2025. She was born to the late Anthony Schweitzer, Sr. and Alma Cummins on January 12, 1937. Dottie was a member of St. Athanasius Church. She was a member of St. Michael’s Three M Club, loved to spend time with her family, read, travel, bowling, and watching Blue Bloods.

In addition to her parents, Dottie is preceded in death by her husband; Jack Speer, son; Donald “DJ” Joseph Speer, and sister, Beverly Steitz.

Left to cherish Dottie’s memory are her children; Barbara Walker (Ken), Edward Speer (Amy), and John Speer (Stacie), grandchildren; Kenneth Walker II, Christopher Walker (Abby), Ronald Speer (Mia), Danielle Speer, Nicholas Speer, Jared Speer, Noah Speer, and Kayla Fields, great-grandchildren; Lorionna, Finley, Liam, and Clark, and brothers, Harold Schweitzer, Lawrence Schweitzer, and Anthony Schweitzer, Jr. (Drema), and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loving friends.

A visitation for Dottie will be held Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Evergreen Funeral Home from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Visitation will resume Monday, March 3, 2025, from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Dottie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dottie’s name can be made to St. Athanasius Church, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or St. Joseph Children’s Home.
