Eddy Alfred Smith, beloved son of Herbert and Nancy Revis Smith passed away on June 8, 2022. He was 72. He is survived by his parents, sister, Patricia [Stephen] Terrell, son, Ryan [Laura] Linneman, and niece, Ashley Terrell French [Joseph]. He was the grandson of Charles W. and Maggie Smith and George and Dora Revis.
He was born in Clay County, Kentucky on Christmas Day, 1949 and moved with his family to Louisville as a child. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated from Seneca High School. He attended the Cincinnati Technical and Community College. "Fast Eddy" (as he was nicknamed at work) retired in 2018 from General Electric Aviation in Cincinnati, Ohio after completing a career that spanned over 40 years. He moved to Louisville later the same year to be near family.
Eddy loved to travel, never met a stranger, and was competitive in numerous sports, including golf, softball, and bowling. A lifelong Reds fan, he was never far from the television when they were playing.
He leaves an enduring legacy of faith, hope, and forever remains in the hearts of family and friends. A private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the charity of your choice.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Adam Lye, MD and Deanna Stith, APRN at the Norton Cancer Institute for their extraordinary persistence, expertise, and care. Thank you for never giving up. And we express our gratitude to the Hosparus/Hospice team for their patience and compassion.
