Edward Lee “Mr Ed” Mattern, 72, of Louisville, returned to his heavenly father with his family by his side. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired after 22 years from the Jefferson County Public Schools, (McFerran Elementary School).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Mattern, and grandfather, Walter (Pop) Mattern.
He is survived by his children Chuck Mattern (Angela), and Tony Mattern (Jennifer), and his brother, Billy Miller. His 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, many nieces, nephews and friends and “Louie” his loving dog.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle, 2428 Frankfort Ave. with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday 2-8 pm.
