Born in Louisville, Kentucky on Wednesday, May 1, 1935, Edward was the son of the lates’ William Joseph Reinhart and Mary Elizabeth Sullivan. He attended and graduated from Flaget High School and served his nation as a Specialist (E-4) in the United States Army, being responsible for medical care and aid. He retired from Coca – Cola Bottling company after 40 years, where he was a Quality Control Manager and then worked for an additional 8 years in production for G.E. Edward was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Athanasius Catholic Church. He enjoyed the company of his grandchildren, liked baseball - especially the Boston Red Sox, UK basketball and loved spending time at Churchill Downs, where he met his wife, Judy in 1960. Ed was a skilled handyman and painter, where alongside his brother, Phil, they spent weekends completing thousands of projects. Ed lived a full – life!
Besides his parents, William Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Reinhart; his wife of 45 years, Judy Reinhart; and siblings, Willie Reinhart, Phil Reinhart and Mary Reinhart, precede Ed in his passing.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Judy (Ken) Reinhart Stacy and Edward L. (Kim) Reinhart, Jr.; grandchildren, Evan Stacy, Ethan Stacy, Alec Stacy, Ava Reinhart and Matthew Reinhart; niece and nephew, Marty Reinhart and Cheryl Hatfield; several close neighbors; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Athanasius Catholic Church. Ed will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, where he will rest alongside his wife, Judy. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel.
In lieu of flowers and customary expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions in honor of Ed can be directed to St. Athanasius Catholic Church or Hosparus.
