Effie M. Swift

Effie Mae Swift, 90 of Frankfort, KY passed away on April 6, 2023. She was born to the late Ethel and Ellis Goodman in Caneyville, KY. Her five siblings, first husband, John Baker and late husband Joyce Swift also preceded her in passing.

Effie moved from Caneyville, KY to Louisville, KY in the late 1950’s. Then, she moved from Louisville, KY to Frankfort, KY in 1990 where she lived out the rest of her days. Effie was devoted Christian and member to Faith Baptist Church in Frankfort, KY. She was also a member at the YMCA. If Effie wasn't spending time with her family, she loved working through crossword puzzles, sewing, or was outdoors; fishing and camping. Her family was most important to her and was most proud of becoming a mom and grandmother throughout the years.

Here to cherish her memory are her children; Charles Baker (Claudia), Janet Norman (Jim), and Linda Funk (David), seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, along with extended family and friends.

Visitation will occur on Wednesday, April 12th from 5-8PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. Funeral service with take place on Thursday, April 13th inside the funeral home chapel at 1PM. Effie will be laid to rest privately in Louisville Memorial Garden East.
