Eleanor C. Price, 103, quietly turned the final page of her beautiful story on August 9, 2023, as she slipped peacefully into the arms of her Savior.
She was born July 12, 1920, to John Patterson Price and Rosa Pickett Price of Louisville, Alabama.
Eleanor was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. All she ever wanted in life was to be a mother and homemaker, and she lovingly did both with great fortitude, unconditional devotion, and success. She was a strong and resilient woman, having successfully survived cancer in her 70's; full of life; and always a joy to be around. She was a devout Christian who led an adult women's Bible study at her Baptist church in Ohio for several years. An avid reader, gardener, and traveler, she led a blessed and wonderful life: cheerful and loving toward people, having never met a stranger; and adoration toward children, a true favorite among her nieces and nephews. For the past 17 years, she had resided with her younger of two daughters in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her dear elder daughter, Joan Carol Lindner; her loving granddaughter, Lisa Spurlock Gilmore; her parents; and seven siblings - four brothers and three sisters.
Eleanor leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Gloria Spurlock; her granddaughters, Lori Lindner French and Dr. Deb Lindner Cogan; grandson, Paul Spurlock; her great-granddaughters, Alexandra French, Madison Spurlock, and Anna Cogan; great-grandsons, Toby French, Zeke and Levi Gilmore, Everett Cogan and Simon Spurlock; and many nieces and nephews.
