

She is survived by her mother, Susan Lyons and her father, Walter Ward (Blanca), siblings, Leigh Smith (Thom) and Ben Ward (Meredith). Beth is also survived by her niece, Louisa Smith, nephew, Lennon Smith and step-sister, Sarah Mikell.
Beth’s kind heart and compassionate soul led her to study social work at the University of Kentucky, which put her on the path of her life’s work helping others. She was fluent in Spanish, working in Chicago, IL as a family support specialist at El Hogar del Nino where she served Latino families with pre-school children. Following her move to Louisville, she worked at a local non-profit focusing on the intellectually disabled. Her most recent work was as a member services representative at USAA. Her concern and passion to offer care and love to others had a tremendous impact on the lives around her.
Beth’s sense of humor will be greatly missed, as well as her love for laughter. She always lived life to the fullest. She loved reading, listening to all types of music, and spending time with her family who she deeply loved. She was especially fond of her niece and nephew and loved to make them laugh.
Beth will be forever loved and remembered by her immediate and extended family, lifelong friends, and all the lives she touched in her own amazing way.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 21st from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. A private family service will be held afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Beth’s name to Lighthouse Academy at Newburg.
