Emmett Burch Duke, 77, of South Louisville was born on February 14, 1941 to the late Evelyn Rose Fox and Charles Ferdinand Duke, and passed from this life on June 16, 2018. He was the former owner of Duke Electric Company and later retired from the city as a City Electrical Inspector. He was a member of the Kosair Shrine and Shawnee Masonic Lodge #830. He is preceded in death by his son Michael E. Duke. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved daughter, Shannon Lee Duke; grandson, Adrian Rivera; granddaughter, Alecha Codey and beloved girlfriend, Elizabeth Bower. A service to celebrate Emmett’s life will be held at noon on Thursday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Wednesday. Memorial gifts may be made to the James Brown Cancer Center.
