Ethan Alan "Al" Leras, 78, of Bardstown, KY, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013. He was a retired captain serving from 1959-1999 for the Black Mudd Fire Protection District, a Kentucky Colonel and adored his grandchildren and family.
Al is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Leras and Lillian Buckel, a son, Steven Leras, and a brother, Vic Leras.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Vickie (Tumey) Leras, children, Tiffany Gaskin (Brian), Debbie Thompson, Cheri Ashford, Larry Leras (Sally), Eddie Pinion and Jennifer Workman; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Al's life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held 3-8p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
