Florence was born October 10, 1932 in Bardstown, KY to the late Joseph Lee and Gertrude Spalding Brown.
A loving Matriarch and homemaker, she took great joy in her family, was a devoted and engaged mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardener, proponent of shopping-therapy and aficionado of desserts. She will be fondly remembered as a successful and charming Avon Lady. As an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church, she served as a Eucharistic Minister taking communion to the sick and homebound. Florence enjoyed attending bible studies, prayer groups, and spiritual retreats. She loved to travel and made pilgrimages to Fátima, Lourdes, Medjugorje and the Vatican. Ministry was her passion. Her devotion to Christ’s teachings inspired her to share her faith through unconditional love and living by example. Florence brought joy and happiness to all the lives she touched and made everyone in her presence feel special and loved.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ezra “Bunt” Parrott; a brother, Thomas Brown and sisters, Rose Ann Goodwin and Mary Hutchins.
She is survived by sons, Mitchell (Diane), Roger (Donna) and Scott (Noelle); daughters, Tamara Hankins, Lisa Rolfe (Andrew) and grandchildren, Leah and Jeremy Parrott, Maia and Peter Rolfe, and great-grandchildren, Regan & Rylee Keen; brothers, Joseph Brown (Joan), Charles Brown and sister, Dorothy Ludwig (Vernon).
Due to Covid-19, the family will hold a private service followed by burial in St. Michael Cemetery. A celebration of Life and Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
