Forrest Lynn Powell, 76, of St. Matthews passed away Friday, November 17, 2017. He was born August 18, 1941 in Adair County, KY to the late George and Sallie Cheatham Powell. He was a veteran of the US Marines. He retired from the KY Ford Truck Plant with 38 years of service, and was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church, where he enjoyed and supported the children's ministry that was dear to his heart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jacqueline Powell, his children Keith Douglas Powell (Kellie), Kenneth Ray Powell (Kimberly), and Dawn Elaine Aulick (Eric). His sister Chrystine Overcash, and his 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Lynn's life will be held at Noon on Monday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 7410 Westport Road, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday 3-7 pm, and after 10 am Monday.
