Gary was born February 22, 1951 in Simpson, Kentucky to the late Charles Henry Cole and Betty West.
He is also preceded in death by his son, Shawn Wayne Cole; siblings, Billy Ray Cole, Deborah Cole and Judy Jett.
Gary served in the United States Army and retired from Ford Motor Company after many years of service. He was an avid U of L fan and most of all enjoyed spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Cole; children, Sharee Hollifield (Tim), Prudence Dodson (Johnny), Jarrett Cole, Natosha McClellan (Michael); step-children, Jennifer Hume (Steven), Justin Sims and Jason Sims; siblings, S. Diane Harper and Jeffrey Cole; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213, with a service to honor the life of Gary to follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Gary will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
