He was a member of Saint Matthias Church. George was a Navy veteran of World War II and a retired American Standard and Fawcett Printing Co. worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; two sisters; and one grandson,.
George is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Joyce Berkley; daughters, Joy Bouchard (John) and Deborah Sweeney (John); son, George E. Berkley Jr. (Barb); brother, Charlie Berkley (Edith); sister, Cecilia Eisenbeis; grandchildren, Joy Niceley (Bill), Jackie Craig, Stephanie Sweeney, Janna Wells (Jeff), Amanda Lambert (Jacob) and George E. Berkley III; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service honoring the life of George will be held noon Saturday at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume Saturday at 10 a.m. until the start of funeral.
