

Gerri was born on September 20, 1938, in Cincinnati Ohio.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Clara and Edward Weartz, brother Eddie (Winky) Weartz and by her beloved husband of 70 years, Robert (Bob) Ayers Sr.
Left to Cherish her memory, her children Robert Jr (Tina Raye), Terry (Judy), Clara Diane (Roger), Tina Jane, Jeff (Lisa), and Rick. Her grandchildren Roger Dale, Heather, Amber, Bobby, Brett, Kandice, Jonathon, and 10 great-grandchildren and her faithful dog Kelly Ann.
She is also survived by her sister Joyce Shaw, sister-in-law Billie Weartz, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Vi and Ancil Yeager, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Gerri was a homemaker and welcomed everyone into her home. She was faithful and an active member of Summitt Height United Methodist Church for 50 years. She also worked at the Parents Out Program at church for 42 years. She loved working with children. She loved her church and was involved in many different committees. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She was also involved with the ladies auxiliary at Black Mudd Fire Department and the Eastern Star. She loved traveling with her husband for Senior softball and going to Gatlinburg.
She will be truly missed by all who loved her. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, GiGi, sister, and a dear friend to many. She was happiest when she was spending time with her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and her dog Kelly Ann.

A visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 8519 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY, 40219-5390, on February 16, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 17, 2026, starting at 11:00 am.
The committal service will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY, 40218, on February 17, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
Memorial gifts can be made to the American Heart Association, and to the American Humane Society.
