

Haskell “Hack” Horner, 78, formerly of Jefferson City, Tennessee returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Mr. Horner was born in Jefferson City, Tennessee on January 8, 1947 to the late William “Roy” and Hannah Horner.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Stanley, Mack, DeWitt, J. W., James, William Roy Jr., and Thomas Dewey; sisters, Maggie Gilliam, Ann Mills, Edna Bennett and Rosa Kinder.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Horner; his children, Dena Rueff, Lorie Horner (Jamie) and Will Horner (Paige); grandchildren, Morgan, Sydney (Brett), Trent, Addison, Tenley and Warren; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Zaylyn and Scarlett; brother, Ray Horner of Morristown Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Hack was a Navy veteran and a member of the UAW #862. He was retired from Ford Motor Company after 39 years of service and returned to work at Union Sorters of America. He was a continued supporter for the Tennessee Vols and avid University of Louisville fan, and a member of the “Gate 4 Tailgaters.” He loved fishing, gambling and spending time with his family, he attended all of his grandchildren’s school and sport events He also spent many years as a youth coach for baseball and softball.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, from 2 pm until 8 pm and on Thursday from 9 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Mr. Horner will be laid to rest at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Hwy.
