

on May 12, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky. Helen's gentle spirit and warm heart touched the
lives of everyone she encountered.
Helen's journey through life was one marked by devotion and service. She found her soulmate
in Walter Masterson, and together they shared 52 years of unwavering love until his passing.
Helen was also preceded in death by her dear sister, Norma MacDonald, whose memories
remain a cherished part of the family's legacy.
She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: daughters Debbie
Boylan (John), and Jeannene Gray (Steve); grandchildren Troy (Terri) Greenwell, Fred (Jessica)
Greenwell, Krissy (Jeremiah) Johnson, T.C. (Mandy) Gray; and great-grandchildren Gabbriell,
Chance, and Christian Greenwell, Zack and Dylan Johnson, Addie and Payton Gray. Bonus
grandchildren and great-grandchildren, John (Kristi) Boylan, Trey; Tara (Chris) Duley, Mason
and Sully, and Vicki Harris (John).
Those who knew Helen will remember her as the epitome of love, kindness, and gentleness.
She was a friend to many, including her special friends Emma Hayes, Joe Broyles, Mary Jo,
Steve and Stephanie Dennison, all of whom will miss her dearly. Helen's ability to listen, her
willingness to help, and her capacity to love unconditionally were qualities that defined her.
Helen's professional life was spent at Bacons in Shively, where she retired after years of
dedicated service. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were hallmarks of her career.
Helen's faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Ormsby
Heights Baptist Church. Her Christian beliefs were the foundation upon which she built her life,
guiding her actions and interactions with grace and compassion.
A visitation for Helen will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown
Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218 on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 11AM to 2PM. A funeral
service will immediately follow in the funeral homes chapel at 2PM. Helen will be laid to rest at
Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Hosparus of Louisville or Tradition of
Beaumont Memory Care Activities.
