Born on September 6, 1941, in Sharon Grove, Kentucky, Herrell led a life marked by service, friendship, and a spirited passion for the world around him.
Herrell grew up as the beloved son of the late Sylvester Fish and Marian Kenner Fish, and despite the passing of his sister June Carpenter and nieces Patricia Mefford and Cindy Snelling, his legacy is carried on through his surviving sisters; Barbara Austin, Bonita Carver, and Connie Fish, his nieces and nephews; Debbie Byerly, Kathy Carpenter, Peggy Gaw, Belinda Sanders, Joy Smith, Diana Mefford, Larry Carver, Karen Frank, Lorrie Hack, and Brandon Fish, and his friends; Buford Ely and Nick Bauman.
A proud graduate of Butler High School, where he ran track with dedication and speed, Herrell continued to showcase his athletic ability as he transitioned into a role that would define his youth.
Distinguished by his commitment to his country, he served honorably in the United States Air Force, exemplifying the characteristics of loyalty and bravery.
Following his military service, Herrell's dexterity and hardworking nature found a home at Ford Motor Company. Over 30 years, he contributed to the American automobile industry, with the same dedication and excellence that he applied to every facet of his life.
Herrell's enthusiasm stretched beyond the confines of his professional accomplishments, manifesting in a lifelong love affair with Corvettes.
As we remember Herrell Wade Fish, the absence of his physical presence is deeply felt by all who knew him. Yet the essence of this remarkably friendly, kind, and selfless man will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
