Hollis Ray Sims

Hollis Ray Sims, 88, of Louisville passed away on December 22, 2022. He was born on June 9, 1934 to the late John and Anna Sims in Casey County KY. He is preceded in death by his first wife Christine Sims, brother Hubert Sims, sisters Lena Phillipe and Linda Sims. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 19 years Sherry Sims, brother Lloyd Sims (Margie), son Hollis Ray Sims II, Daughter Terri Hatter (Charles), Grandchildren; Dustin Sims (Chelsea), Jessica Webb (Dustin), Britney Hatter, and Alison Hatter, as well as 7 great-grandchildren.

Hollis was a Korean War Veteran with the US Army as well as a Mason and Shriner. He spent most of his career tending to and upholding his rental properties which spanned all over the city. Whenever he had a free moment he could be found listening or watching his beloved country and bluegrass music. He was an extremely hard working man who always provided for his loving family. He will be deeply missed by many.

A funeral service will be held on December 29, 2022 10am in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home 2428 Frankfort Ave. Louisville, KY 40206 with visitation on Wednesday December 28, 2022 from 2pm-6pm. Burial will take place at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Hollis' name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
