She was the retired owner of the Woodland Beauty Shop in Vine Grove. She was a member of the Garrett Extension Homemakers Group who enjoyed painting and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her Veteran husband Carlie B. Kelly; their infant child; Nancy, and her brother Pleas Begley.
She is survived by her only living child; Judy Staeuble and her husband Randy of Louisville, grandson; David Staeuble, brother; Paul Begley, her sisters; Anita Ruth Campbell and husband Lester and Betty Vensel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services to honor the life of Irene will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home at 2pm Tuesday, February 11 with visitation before the service from 11-2.
Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Administration.
