Born to the late Carl Carter and Lillian Lanham Carter, Connie is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Carter.
He is survived by his children, James C. Carter, Jr. and Joseph Patrick Carter (Peggy); his granddaughter Leslie Ann Carter; and his great-granddaughter Lillian Elizabeth Carter.
Connie was a man of many talents from being a master craftsman in ornamental iron work, to oil painting and stained glass work. He also became a software engineer who traveled the country installing and teaching estimating software for the construction industry. He supported ministry in South Africa and became an ordained minister after years of being a Deacon in his church. Later in retirement he got involved in the Masons and became a Shriner. The sky was always the limit with him. He saw life as one big adventure and off to the next challenge he went. Most importantly, he was a husband and a father who worked hard to support his family. Despite any flaws he may have had, his heart was full of love and he always did the best he could with the tools that were passed down to him in his youth. It's good to know that you and your wife are together again in the house of the Lord.
