Born in Louisville to Claude and Evelyn Eakins, Jimmy was a retired truck driver and a member of the Amvets Post 9.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon “Sherry” Eakins; grandson Conner; and siblings Douglas Allen, Johnny Eakins, and Linda Eakins. Survivors include his children James “Kevin” Morgan, Christopher “Shawn” Morgan (Nancy), Bridgett Sulzer (Eddie), and Serena Coulter; grandchildren Cody, Harley, Hopie, Brandon, Dustin, Andrew, Cami, Mercedes, McCoy, and Amy Lucas; son-in-law Andy Coulter; and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 30th at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Tuesday and 10am-8pm Wednesday.
