

James William French, known affectionately as "Jim", age 82, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family due to complications following spine surgery. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 11, 1943. Jim began his career in HVAC and diligently worked his way up to owning his own company. He retired from French Heating & Air Conditioning several years ago. He will be remembered as a great storyteller, faithful friend, loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and fixing things. He was a dedicated member of 9th & O Baptist Church, a former deacon, and he taught 4th grade boys for many years.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Glendolyn French and his brother, Michael French.
Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, his wife, Anna Janiece Sheroan French, to whom he was married for 62 years; his children, Lisa Mooney (Mike), Chris French (Charlene), Trina Spray (Johnny); his grandchildren, Ashley French, Hannah Spray, Joshua Spray, Rachel Spray; his brothers, Butch French and Dan French (Dana); his sister, Linda Peak (Dave); and his sister-in-law, Myra Sheroan, who graciously stepped up to care for Jim in his final days. She is an exceptional caregiver who provided unwavering support to the family. Words cannot express the profound gratitude the family feels for her dedication and compassion.
A funeral service will be held for Jim at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 at 2:00PM with a visitation to follow from 3:00PM to 7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim's name to the Arthritis Foundation.
