James Leo Hill

James L. Hill, 94, of south Louisville passed away Wednesday November 28, 2018. He was born on November 26, 1924 in Springfield, KY., to the late Thaddeus and Harriet (Mattingly) Hill. Mr. Hill was a retired employee of General Electric, and a member of SS. Simon & Jude Catholic Church. In his free time Mr. Hill was an avid hunter and also loved fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 67 years, the former Marilyn Greenwell Hill; a daughter, Marcia Jones (Pat); sons, Larry, Rick, Bruce (Janice), and Vincent Hill (Denise); a brother James Hill; sisters, Polly McDonald, Corine Downs, and Helen Monteleone; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. His funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday at SS. Simon & Jude Catholic Church, 4335 Hazelwood Avenue with entombment to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Friday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Memorial gifts may be made to his church.
