

He was born on October 20, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to Albert & Alice (Stultz) Hooper. James served his nation with honor and pride in the United States Air Force and then in the Army National Guard. He was a former Brakeman for Louisville & Nashville Railroad as well as a Truck Driver for Marathon Petroleum Company. He was a collector of records, coins and stamps. James was a U.K. Wildcats and Indianapolis Colts Fan.
His parents, Albert & Alice (Stultz) Hooper; and one – niece, Leslie Murphy, precede James in death.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, James Louis Hooper, Jr.; granddaughter, Jasmine Hooper; sister, Betty (James) Stewart; nieces and nephews, Doug Hatfield, Debby Hampton, Jimmy Hatfield & Michael (Tiffany) Stewart; plus a host of other great nieces, nephews and other relatives & friends to mourn his passing.
Per James’ wishes cremation was chosen.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. with inurnment in the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums.
