Cheek, James D. “Jim” 64, passed away October 13, 2012. Jim was a U. S. Marine veteran where he served in the Vietnam War. He was an avid UK fan and enjoyed his visits to Hill View Lounge. He was preceded in death by his father James A. Cheek. Jim left behind to cherish his memory his children James “Anthony” Cheek (Jessica) and Jenna Cheek-Abele (John), mother LaVerne Dillingham-Cheek, sister Cheryl Bogard (Bill), five grandchildren, three nephews and one great niece. A service honoring the life of Jim will be held Wednesday at Evergreen Funeral Home at 2pm, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11-8pm at the funeral home and will resume Wednesday at 10am until the start of the funeral.
