James Richard Shipp, Jr., 68, was born on July 4, 1948 in Louisville, KY to Margaret (Wilson) Jenkins and the late James R. Shipp, Sr., and passed from this life on January 8, 2017. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Chana Shipp, Africa Goodnight, and Kenya Tilford; sons, James and Andre Tilford, and James Shipp; his mother, Margaret Jenkins; and several grandchildren. Cremation of the remains was chosen. A memorial service will be held at 10 am Friday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with inurnment in Louisville Cemetery.
