James Louis “J.L.” Thomas, 75 of Louisville, passed away Monday, July 20th, 2015. James was retired from Zeon Chemical and a dedicated, longtime member of St. Rita Catholic Church where he trained and scheduled the lectors for 31 years. He enjoyed playing cards, he was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 44 years, Martha Thomas. His daughter, Julie Owens; his grandchildren: Kyle Patrick Owens and Brooke Ann Owens; his brothers: Harry Thomas, Nicky Thomas, B.J. Thomas, and Anselm Thomas; his sisters: Veronica Hill, Wilma Thompson, Lucille Spalding, and Kay Spencer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Funeral Mass for James Louis Thomas will be held Saturday, July 25th 2015 at 10a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends and family will be received for visitation Thursday and Friday from 2-8pm at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Hwy.
