James Dorsey Walker

James Dorsey Walker, 91 of Louisville, KY passed away on August 19, 2017. James was born in Perry, IL and was a graduate of David Lipscomb College. He worked with the U.S. Treasury for 39 years and was a devoted member of Douglass Hills Church of Christ.

Preceding James in death are his parents, Russell and Florence Walker, his sisters; Algeriene Simpson, Frances Liehr and Theresa Myers.

Left to cherish the memory of James is his loving wife of 66 years, Mary. His children; Annice Milliner (Ronny), Benita Lanning (Rick), Earl Walker (Lois), Grandchildren; Rebecca Welch (David), Martha Curry (Tim), Ryan Lanning (Staci), Jesse Lanning, Meredith Walker (Joel), Laura Nations (Joe) and Emma Walker, Nine Great-Grandchildren; Jonathan Welch, Ethan Welch, Nathan Welch, Lydia Welch, Titus Curry, Zeke Curry, Claire Lanning, Walker Lanning and Jethro Nations.

Visitation for James will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY 40218. A celebration of James’s life will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 12:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY 4018.
