Born to the late Kermit Shangle and Gladys Perrin Shangle, Jan is also preceded in death by his brother, James Shangle.
Here to carry on his memory is his niece, Carrie Johnson (Richie); his sister-in-law Jean Shangle; his nephew John King (Natalie), and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Jan was born in Ithaca, New York. He spent most of his life growing up in Illinois. Jan relocated to Louisville, Kentucky, in the 60's to persue his optician career.
Jan will be laid to rest privately in Resthaven Memorial Park.
