Mrs. Vick, 82, died peacefully of natural causes on June 2, 2012 after a prolonged journey with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born September 17, 1929 in Mocksville, North Carolina, the oldest of five children to the late Lloyd Alexander and Florence Smith Grubb. She is survived by two sisters, Betty Russell and Jean Griffin, and her two daughters, Michele Stutts of Charlotte, North Carolina and Melinda Ellingsworth of Louisville, Kentucky, and four beautiful grandchildren -- Jonathan, Courtney, Tori, and Cole.
Mrs. Vick was married to the late Fred J Vick on December 1, 1949 and they enjoyed a wonderful 56 years of marriage. In addition to raising her family and supporting her husband’s lifelong career with the FBI, she assembled a successful 15-year career with Walgreens, retiring in 1989.
Mrs. Vick will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her passion for playing bridge and her gentle spirit. A private service will be held in her honor at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.
