Jay was a kind, inquisitive & soulful person. I have fond memories from HS of interesting conversations. He was authentic and sensitive. He’s the kind of person we need more of. While I didn’t know him in adulthood, I suspect that authenticity & sensitivity came through. For all of its strengths it likely could make like hard at times. I hope he’s at peace. Sending light & love to all of his family & close friends. 

It was 1990 and I was the painfully shy and goofy new kid at our high school. Jay was the first person to genuinely talk to me. We were pretty much inseparable ever since. Time and adulthood put space between us the last 10-15 years or so. Life does that. We never lost touch completely. Always checking in on one another. He was better at that than me. If Jay loved you, there was no doubt about it. He taught me a lot over the years: how to kickflip on a skateboard, what good punk rock music was and most of all... that friendship wasn’t a part-time gig. 
I love you brother. 


I tried to get Jay to see “ Godzilla: War of the Monsters” with me. His exact words were “I think I’ll pass on this one. I don’t like to see when Godzilla gets hurt.”
