Jean Gardner Newman, 89, of Louisville passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at Baptist Health Louisville. She was born on November 22, 1924 in Louisville to the late Donald Harold Gardner and Palmer Gerrard Gardner. She was a graduate of Atherton High School. Upon graduation she began her career with Western Union. Later in life she worked with Roth Realty.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William C. Newman Sr.; two brothers, James Gardner and William Gardner.
She is survived by her children, Janice Graham (Jim) and Bill Newman Jr.; four grandchildren, Gabriel Newman Graham (Leslie), Bryan Walker Graham (Tonya), Jessica Jean White (Chris) and Molly Marcella Newman; five great great-grandchildren, Ethan James Graham, William Gabriel Graham, Claire Elizabeth Graham, Brody Walker Graham and Remy White; a brother, Donald Gardner; and a sister, Cora Lee Kidd.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 22, 2014 at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
