Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, she is survived by her daughter, Linda C. Powell, of Louisville, KY, son, Michael F. Powell, also of Louisville, KY, his wife Cheryl, two beloved grandsons, Derek and Justin, sister Joan (George) Honor, Karen (the late Daniel) Millington, sister in laws, Sandy (the late Joseph) Clark, and Patricia (the late Jack) Clark, lifelong friend Marcia Bernard, cousin Laurie Law and several nieces and nephews, and of course, her constant pal, Shadow.
Jeanne M. Powell was born in Albany, NY, April 1, 1932 where she resided until she married and moved to White Plains, NY and then to Springfield, MA until 1964 when they returned to Albany where they raised their family. In 2004 she and her husband relocated to Louisville to be closer to her grandchildren whom she adored.
She will join her late husband for eternal internment at Arlington Nation Cemetery, Arlington, VA, in late spring.
Because Jeanne Powell supported several animal protection agencies they ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hudson-Mohawk Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Albany, NY 12204, or to the Kentucky Humane Society, 241 Steedly Drive, Louisville, KY 40214.
