She was a member of the Wilderness Senior Center, and an avid U of L fan. Joanne loved animals especially her cat Whoopi and was an all around amazing mother, grandma and wife.
Joanne is preceded in death by her brother, Richard L. Bennett Jr., and her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, John Zufelt, children, John Everett (Jennifer), Rachel Howard (Matt) and Erin “Jodi” Vaughn (Elizabeth), siblings, Ginny Castillo, Norman Bennett and Six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A funeral service to celebrate Joanne’s life will be conducted at noon on Monday , June 2, 2014 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 1-8 pm on Sunday June 1, 2014 and after 9am the day of the service.
