Cerniglia, John Marion Jr., 94, entered into eternal rest on June 1, 2016. John was a loving, caring, and independent man. He was a WWII Army veteran of Post 201. John retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier after 33 years of service. He was also member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Agnita Payne Cerniglia; parents, John and Josephine Cerniglia; and siblings, Josephine, Joseph, Salvatore, and Mary.
Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Rose Landis; brother, Vincent Cerniglia (Ellen); step-daughters, Barbara Shroyer, Linda Roman (Roy), and Alice Freville (Donald); and 9 step grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be Monday at noon at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of the customary forms of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to St. Athanasius Catholic Church.
