He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Jean Irby.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, John L. Irby III (Kathi) and Jan Preston (Fred); grandchildren, Jessica Luther (Nicholas), John L. Irby IV (Amanda) and Kelly Irby; great-grandchildren, Abigail Luther, Ethan Luther and Luke Irby; and friend and companion, Jane Bottom.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at 2 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home Dignity Chapel with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11 am- 2 pm at the funeral home.
