

Steve served his country through his service in the Army for two years including one year in the Vietnam War earning a Purple Heart and The Bronze Star Medal. He retired from BellSouth after 36 years of employment and then spent his time traveling the country and camping with his beloved wife.
He was born in Louisville, KY on September 29, 1948, to the late Chester Spink and Mabel Watkins Spink.
Steve is survived by his wife of 36 years, Louvon Bonnie Spink; daughters Camille Spink Velardo and husband, Gene Velardo, of Yulee, FL and Tami Williams and husband, Jason Williams, of Frankfort, KY; son Shawn Casey, of Indianapolis, IN; his grandchildren Gabrielle “Brie” Velardo, Gavin Velardo, Nathan Spink, Austin Williams, Shawna Williams; sisters Maxine Fair and husband, late L.J. Fair, of Allen, TX; Geraldine Gordon and husband, late Sonny Gordon of Louisville, KY; Gloria Scheurich and husband, Bob Scheurich, of Louisville, KY; and brothers Larry Spink and wife, Fran Spink, of Crestwood, KY; David Spink and wife, Margarett Spink, of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by parents and sisters Doris Barnett and Laverne Freeman.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date when all family and friends can attend safely.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Steve Spink’s honor to United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) US Organ Transplantation.
