He was a former employee of Brown & Williamson, LG&E, and Circuit City, and a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Joseph Downs Sr., and siblings Donald, Mike, and Norma. He is survived by his wife, Linda Graf Downs; 3 children, Jimmy Downs (Brandy), Scott Downs (Katie), and Stacy Downs; siblings Shirley Downs, Rose Durham, Kenny Downs, and Tony Downs; and grandchildren, Nate, Jake, Harrison, Grayson, Caroline, and Zander.
His funeral service will be held at 12:00 Friday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Thursday.
