Joshua Aaron McConnell

Joshua Aaron McConnell, age 43, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 16, 2026. His sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him. Joshua was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rick McConnell, and is survived by his mother, Bobbie McConnell. Joshua was a devoted son, a loving husband, and a proud father whose greatest joy in life was his family.

Joshua married the love of his life, Brittany McConnell, on June 9, 2012. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to their family. He leaves behind his beloved wife and their sons, Beckham Lee McConnell (11) and Benson Hawke McConnell (9), who were truly the center of his world.

Joshua is also survived by his sister, Lori Hamilton, and her husband, Chris Hamilton; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robbie and Jennifer Shelton; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael Hunter and Brooklynn Shelton; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Haley, Cameron, Ayden, Everett, Clayton, Blakelyn, and Barron. He also leaves behind a large extended family and many friends whose lives were touched by his generosity, loyalty, and heart.

Joshua was a faithful member of Highview Baptist Church, where his faith and love for others were evident to all who knew him.

Those who knew Joshua will remember him for his deep love for his family, his strong character, and the way he showed up for the people he cared about. His presence will be missed beyond words, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

A Visitation for Joshua will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Wednesday January 21, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It will resume the next day, January 22, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the same location, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00PM. He will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.
