

Joyce Hasty Miller, 73, of Louisville, peacefully passed to be with her loving heavenly Father on July 12, 2014. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ lives on as a testament for all who knew her to follow.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Miller, and her parents Joe Curtis, Sr. and Mary Hasty.
Joyce was a devoted member of Southeast Christian Church since the 1960s, where she participated in choir, Bells, quilters, and numerous Sunday school classes. She was a retired preschool teacher from Field Elementary who had a life-long love of working with and teaching children.
She is survived by her children Brook (Ruthie) Miller and Michele (Chad) Kniss; grandchildren Ashley Kniss, Zach (Loral) Kniss, Haley (Zach) Baker, Morgan (Joe) Sutton, Lindsay Miller, and Madison Miller; great-grandchildren Dakota Ann Kniss, and soon-to-arrive Olivia Joyce Rose Sutton. She is also survived by her sisters Mary-Joe (Bob) Jacobs, Becky (Steve) Musser, brother Curtis, Jr. (Rita) Hasty, sister-in-law Janet (Bob) Parrott, numerous nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be conducted Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 2pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12-8 pm and Wednesday from 12-2 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
