Joyce Schanie, 87, of Louisville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22, 2013. She was a member of Parkland Baptist Church for forty eight years, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, and served as the church secretary for twenty years.
Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 67 years, Irven Schanie; their children, Melodye (Clayton) Root, JoNell (Dan) Nicher and Alan (Cheri) Schanie; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service for Joyce will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013, at 10 a.m., at Parkland Baptist Church, 7206 Shepherdsville Road, Louisville, KY 40219, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be on Thursday, from 2-8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
