Judy was a retired school principal of Jefferson County Public Schools, where she was employed for over 35 years. She was a 1965 graduate of University of Louisville. In 1968, she earned a Masters Degree from Western Kentucky University. In 1978, Judy earned her Doctorate in Education from the University of Cincinnati.
Judy was preceded in passing by her parents, Robert Norman and Annie Mae Birkhead, brothers; John, Larry L. and Robert, sister Sherry Toledo and niece, Sheila Birkhead. Judy is survived by her sister Mary Elizabeth Ruark, and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 16th, at the Arch L. Heady at Westport Village Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Rd. from 10:30a.m.-12:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
