June Rae Allison, 84, cast aside her mortal coil and joined her Heavenly Father on January 4, 2020. She was preceded by her husband Denny B. Allison; daughter, Kathryn Gail Allison; parents, Meinrad & Sallie Billharz, beloved in – laws, Finis & Wilda Allison; brothers, Meinrad, Jesse & Andrew; sisters, Ella Mae Meuer, Ethel Shoemaker, Sallie Parker and Elizabeth Jones. She leaves behind to remember her, a son, Denny Ray (Darlene); granddaughter, Erin (Christopher) Allison – Farley; sister, Margaret Wells; beloved friend, Norma Sheppard, and many beloved nieces, nephews and their families.
June was born in Louisville, Kentucky where she attended Dupont Manual High School. She briefly worked for Bell South as a telephone operator. She then took a position with Fawcett Printing Company, where she worked with her husband. In 1975, Fawcett became World Color Printing, and moved their operations to Salem, Illinois where they followed. June continued working there until her retirement. June was an active and beloved member of the Salem Nazarene Church. Her favorite roles were infant care and Sunday school teacher. In 2013, to be closer to her son, daughter – in – law, and granddaughter, she moved to Leesburg, Florida. Where she was a member of the Hawthorne Community.
June’s original service was set for April of 2020 but was delayed due to COVID – 19 restrictions. We are sorry for any inconvenience this delay causes family or friends. We know June would never have wanted to put any friends or family at risk. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Cornerstone Foundation, Tavares, Florida.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. in the Evergreen Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Memorial Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:30 p.m., also on Saturday, September 25, 2021 also at the Evergreen Funeral Home. Inurnment alongside her daughter, Kathryn Gail Allison will be in the Garden of Flowers Mausoleum of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums, where they will rest with their husband and father.
