

Kenneth E. Stilger, a cherished and respected member of the Louisville community, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, at the age of 83 in his hometown of Louisville, KY. Born on September 30, 1940, to Julia and Lester Stilger.
Kenneth's journey began in Louisville, where he grew up with his siblings and where he would later establish a life that touched many. His early years were shared with his parents and his brothers Paul, Frank,Norman, Walter, and Gerald Stilger, all of whom preceded him in death. Kenneth's beloved wife, Sandy, with whom he shared 51 beautiful years, also predeceased him. His legacy continues through his devoted sisters, Marlene Fenton and Anna Lee Tolson, who, along with many nieces and nephews, remember him fondly.
A true family man, Kenneth's pride and joy were his children: Scott (Cheryl), Terry (Debby), Tonia Landherr (Mike), and Shannon Jones (Michael). His role as a grandfather to Melissa(Jarboe)Adam, Christopher Stilger(Rachel), Sally Tonini(Xavier), Amanda Taylor(Jared), Sarah Heath(Jimmie), Dara Griggs(Logan), Lana Eagleton(Zach), Mackenzie Wiggins(Michael, Taylor Stilger, and Jakob Jones, and as a great-grandfather to Nathaniel, Alexander, Evelyn, Grant, Vivienne, Cole, Elle, Emmett, Fitzgerald, and Theodore, was one he cherished with all his heart. Each child and grandchild carries forward a piece of Kenneth's spirit, wisdom, and kindness.
Kenneth's professional life was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of Star Drywall and Louisville Drywall. His businesses not only served the community but also provided a livelihood for many families over the years. Kenneth's unwavering work ethic and integrity were the cornerstones of his successful career.
Beyond his business accomplishments, Kenneth was a proud Vietnam Marine Veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart, a testament to his courage and dedication to his country. His service was characterized by bravery and a commitment to his fellow marines, values that he carried with him through all aspects of his life.
Kenneth's interests painted the picture of a man who loved the simple pleasures in life. Deer hunting was a passion that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy moments of solitude and reflection. Reading a good book was another of his favorite pastimes, showcasing his love for learning and his intelligent mind.
Described by those who knew him as loving, intelligent, and courageous, Kenneth embodied these qualities in every interaction and endeavor. He approached life's challenges with a quiet strength and a warm heart, always willing to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.
As we bid farewell to Kenneth E. Stilger, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy that will endure through the generations. He was a pillar of his community, a loving family man, and a true hero to many. While we mourn his passing, we also find comfort in the memories and the indelible mark he has left on our hearts.
Kenneth's life story is one of love, service, and unwavering strength. We honor his memory and the profound impact he made on all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be cherished forever.

A visitation will occur at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218 on Friday, June 14th from 2-8PM. Funeral service will take place 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish, 3926 Poplar Level Road, Louisville, KY 40213. Kenneth will be laid to rest privately within Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218.
