She was a native of Owensboro, KY and a retired teacher. She was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church, Crescent Hill Woman's Club, Kentucky Bluegrass Doll Club, English Speaking Union and Jefferson County Retired Teachers Assn. She volunteered at Norton Kosair Children's Hospital.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Alfred L. Roman Sr. Survivors are two sons, Alfred L. Roman Jr. (Jan) and Stephen G. Roman (Patti); two daughters, Susanne R. Temple and Deborah R. Wiegand (Wayne); grandchildren, James I. Roman Sr., Pamela R. Mayes (Ron), Kelly S. Temple (Garret), Eric W. Wiegand (Tonya) and Courtney A. Richardson (Jamie); and great-grandchildren, James I. Roman Jr., Amanda L. Roman and John Douglas "JD" Wiegand.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at St. Matthews Baptist Church in the Chapel.
